The vote to approve the
contract was 6-2.
Toni Atkins voted no - thank her.
Donna Frye recused because the attorney representing us is also her attorney.
Please reconsider your decision to approve the proposed contract with Project Design Consultants to do final design on the proposed Regents Road bridge project, because:
- Final design is NOT necessary
to prepare the required new EIR.
- Spending $4.8 million dollars on final
design for a project that has no EIR is an
outrageous misuse of public funds.
- According to California environmental law,
the new EIR must be done BEFORE final design.
- This contract would involve major digging
and drilling in Rose Canyon.
A New EIR is the First
Order of Business
This final design contract would
stand environmental review on its head – committing
the City to a project before they complete the
environmental review.
These are funds that are intended for the public
benefit, not city hall waste.
Do not hire Project Design Consultants. They were
paid $1.8 million dollars to do the first EIR and produced a legally inadequate
EIR. Why would you even consider hiring them again?
Sincerely,
|
